Fairies, also called elves, fey or fae, have their origins in old French medieval and romantic stories. These supernatural creatures or spirits have always existed in various myths, folklore and stories and still do today. As soon as people think of fairies or elves, they see small, winged mythical creatures. Apart from Victorian painting, fairies were almost never depicted with wings. According to legend, fairies used magic and often climbed on the back of a friendly crow to transport themselves.
