Furthermore, it contains oregano antioxidants, that support the immune system during a cold or other illnesses. Oregano is a perennial plant that will flower every year. Since oregano is an invasive plant, it is better to grow this herb in a plant trough, regardless of whether this is indoors or outdoors. Fresh oregano adds a delicious flavour to an array of recipes. You can boil the leaves just as you do with spinach.
Peppermint (Mentha x Piperita)
Peppermint contains menthol that counteracts swellings. In addition, it has an anti-histamine effect and it enhances unrestricted breathing. Just as oregano, peppermint is highly invasive. The plant had best be planted in a plant trough, regardless whether you want to grow it indoors or outdoors. Peppermint prefers moderate to bright sunlight and well-draining soil. Use the peppermint leaves as a herb in your favourite recipes or tea or combine peppermint oil with eucalyptus on your chest as a soothing balm.
Elder (Sambucus Canadensis)
The elder improves the blood circulation and as such opens the lungs, blood vessels and capillaries. The elderberry had best be planted outdoors in moderate to bright sunlight. In such an environment the bush will grow rapidly. The bush thrives best in soil with a pH-value between 6 and 8. The elderberry itself is very tasty and the flowers can be used to make tea.
